C.P. Vietnam accompanies “Dong Nai Green Week” in Support of World Environment Day 5/6

Dong Nai, May 31, 2025 — In response to World Environment Day on June 5 with the global theme “Beat Plastic Pollution,” C.P. Vietnam Corporation (CPV) is honored to accompany the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai Province, the People’s Committee of Dinh Quan District, and relevant departments and agencies in launching the “Dong Nai Green Week,” joining hands to promote environmental protection and sustainable living in the community.

The “Dong Nai Green Week” at the Dinh Quan Multi-purpose Sports Hall is not only an occasion to reaffirm the roles and responsibilities of all sectors in addressing environmental challenges but also an opportunity for organizations, businesses, and citizens to take practical action toward a circular economy, reduce plastic waste, and protect natural resources and biodiversity. As plastic pollution continues to pose a global threat, this year’s World Environment Day message holds even greater significance, especially for Vietnam—a country facing increasing plastic waste in urban areas and along coastal regions.

The launch ceremony of Dong Nai Green Week took place at the Dinh Quan Multi-purpose Sports Hall, Hiep Dong Quarter, Dinh Quan Town, Dinh Quan District, with nearly 1,500 participants, including provincial leaders, mass organizations, businesses, students, and local residents. The event featured a lively program with creative and meaningful activities, such as planting trees in the sports hall and stadium grounds, parades with promotional vehicles and bicycles involving nearly 100 participants, and booths for exchanging recyclable and hazardous waste for gifts. These were not just symbolic gestures but inspiring actions that fostered a more sustainable and environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang – Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee delivered a speech at the launch ceremony

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang, Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing that “This event is an opportunity for the community to demonstrate its love for the environment, protect natural resources, and raise awareness and habits of environmental protection. At the same time, the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee has also issued and implemented several plans and projects to better manage plastic waste and improve waste management efficiency in the province.”

Representing C.P. Vietnam at the event were Mr. Sawang Chanprasert, Senior Vice President of Poultry Breeding Business, Mr. Chinoros Benjachavakul, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and External Relations, along with volunteers from CPV’s Dinh Quan and neighboring areas. During the event, Mr. Sawang Chanprasert received a certificate of appreciation and a tree from the organizers, recognizing CPV’s active participation and sponsorship of the program.

Provincial leaders, local departments, and CPV representatives joined hands in planting trees together, reinforcing the importance of environmental stewardship. CPV made significant contributions by donating 450 Yellow Cow Wood trees to Dinh Quan District, with 50 of them planted on the day of the event. Additionally, CPV organized the “Plastic for Gifts—Small Actions, Big Changes” booth, where locals and students could exchange used plastic bottles for useful, eco-friendly gifts. This activity not only encouraged waste separation habits but also raised awareness about reuse, reducing single-use plastics, and promoting sustainable consumption within the community, especially among young people.

Provincial leaders, departments, local agencies, and C.P. Vietnam representatives participated together in the tree planting activity.

Volunteers from the company and local residents actively participated in tree planting activities, creating a lively and meaningful atmosphere. A CPV representative shared: “Every small action today lays the foundation for big changes tomorrow. Celebrating World Environment Day is not just an annual event but an opportunity for each of us to demonstrate responsibility toward the planet and inspire others to adopt greener practices.”

At CPV’s “Plastic for Gifts” booth, over 1,000 plastic bottles were collected—an impressive figure reflecting strong community engagement. The event in Dong Nai was part of CPV’s long-term initiative, “C.P. Vietnam – Green Vietnam Journey (2021–2025),” a nationwide campaign launched by the company with the goal of planting and caring for 1.5 million trees both within the company’s facilities and in collaboration with communities, local governments, and social organizations. This project not only enhances forest cover and improves environmental quality but also inspires a deeper connection between businesses and society in protecting nature for future generations.

Beyond tree planting and plastic recycling, CPV is also a pioneer in green production. By investing heavily in modern production lines, adopting energy-saving technologies, solar power systems, and optimizing factory operations, the company has gradually reduced greenhouse gas emissions. These actions not only improve operational efficiency but also contribute significantly to the national goal of sustainable energy transition, moving toward a “zero-emissions enterprise” model in the future.

“Dong Nai Green Week” and the activities to celebrate World Environment Day 2025 further demonstrate CPV’s long-term commitment and proactive spirit in working alongside the government, communities, and partners for a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful Vietnam. With consistent contributions and a clear sustainable development vision, CPV continues to affirm its pioneering role in building a green enterprise model that harmonizes economic growth with environmental protection and natural resource conservation.
