C.P. Vietnam Accompanies the “Clean Water for Children” Project in Binh Phuoc Province

Located in the transitional zone between the Central Highlands and Southeast Vietnam, Binh Phuoc Province experiences prolonged dry seasons and uneven rainfall. Climate change has further intensified heatwaves and droughts, causing serious depletion of both groundwater and surface water, especially during the dry season.

Statistics indicate that over 10,000 hectares of crops in the province are affected by drought, and more than 3,000 households face severe shortages of clean water. Several districts still face significant socio-economic challenges, and the lack of clean water greatly impacts the quality of life and health of residents—particularly schoolchildren.

To help alleviate these difficulties, the “Clean Water for Children” project was initiated by the Youth Social Work Club in collaboration with sponsors, the Provincial Youth Union, and the Vietnam Youth Federation. The project aims to provide access to clean water for residents and children in the Southeast region and Tay Ninh province during the dry season.

Local representatives, schools, sponsoring partners cut the ribbon to inaugurate the project

On the morning of April 25, 2025, in Hớn Quản District, Binh Phuoc Province, a ceremony was held to hand over a drilled well and clean water filtration system to An Phu Primary and Secondary School. This initiative brought safe water access to students and the local community. The program is part of the “Clean Water for Children” project and was funded by C.P. Vietnam Corporation in partnership with the Youth Social Work Club.

Hớn Quản is an area still facing many socio-economic challenges, especially concerning access to clean water. Surveys show that many schools here lack reliable water systems, severely affecting the health and daily life of students and local residents. Children often rely on unsanitary water sources, increasing their risk of gastrointestinal, dermatological, and infectious diseases.

An Phu Primary and Secondary School was selected as the project’s pilot site due to its central location, which enhances accessibility. The school currently serves over 700 pupils, around 300 of whom are ethnic minorities, and is surrounded by over 1,600 households. The new clean water system will help provide safe water for both students and teachers, improving health outcomes and supporting better living and learning conditions for the community.

The newly installed well and filtration system will provide a stable supply of clean water, improving sanitation and enhancing the quality of education, daily life, and health for both students and the broader community. The system will be managed by the school under the supervision of the Provincial Youth Union, with periodic water quality inspections conducted by local authorities.

Environmental Education and Sustainability Initiatives

In addition, in celebration of Earth Day, C.P. Vietnam also collaborated with the school to organize an environmental awareness activity called “Green Station – Plastic for Gifts”. The activity encouraged students to collect plastic waste while educating them about the plastic recycling journey and its impact on protecting the planet.

By supporting the “Clean Water for Children” project, the company not only brings clean water to communities in need but also contributes to building a sustainable future—where every child has access to better living and learning conditions.
